Helpper
TLDR
Helpper is an Antwerp-based Marketplace connecting people with disabilities to care assistants in their community, funded by their personal care budgets (PVB/PAB), with 3,500+ users across Flanders and Brussels and 201% revenue growth in the Deloitte Fast 50 2025.
Overview
Founded in 2017 by Francois Gerard after his father was diagnosed with ALS, Helpper was built from direct personal experience of the gap in non-medical support for people with disabilities. Medical care is covered in Belgium's care system, but organizing practical assistance, transport, household help, and social activities is complex and often falls on family members. Helpper provides a platform to find and formalize assistance arrangements using the government-issued personal care budget (PVB in Flanders, PAB for younger users).
The platform enables users to enlist family members, friends, and neighbors as formal care assistants compensated through their personal care budget. This model keeps assistance within the person's social network while providing the administrative infrastructure for payment and oversight. Helpper has served over 3,500 individuals across Flanders and Brussels.
Helpper raised EUR 1M in a seed round from CAREVOLUTION in March 2018. The company posted 201% revenue growth in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Belgium 2025 and is a member of the Flanders Technology & Innovation (FTI) Alliance.
