LegalFly
TLDR
LegalFly is a Ghent-based AI workspace for in-house legal and compliance teams, founded in 2023 by four ex-Tinder product executives, with EUR 17M raised and 800% revenue growth in 2025.
Overview
Founded in 2023 by Dennis Montegnies, Kasper Verbeeck De Wael, Ruben Miessen, and Gregory Vekemans, all former product and engineering leads at Tinder (Match Group), LegalFly applies consumer-product design thinking to enterprise legal workflows. The founders left Match Group in April 2023, built an MVP within weeks, and ran a pilot with 25 law firms before formally incorporating the company and closing a seed round.
The platform deploys 12+ AI agents that handle tasks including contract review, regulatory research, and compliance monitoring. It targets in-house legal teams at large corporations who spend a disproportionate amount of time on document-heavy, structured work that AI handles well. The positioning is a secure, enterprise-grade AI workspace rather than a standalone legal AI tool.
LegalFly closed a seed round of EUR 2M in November 2023, led by Redalpine with participation from Mehdi Ghissassi (Director of Product at Google DeepMind). In July 2024, the company raised EUR 15M in a Series A led by Notion Capital, with additional investment from Redalpine and Fortino Capital. The company reported 800% revenue growth in 2025.
