Overview

Tectonic was launched in November 2025 as Belgium's answer to the big European tech conferences. The event was organized by three parties: FTI (Flanders Technology & Innovation), In The Pocket (the Ghent digital product studio), and NextGen Belgium. Nathan De Troyer was involved through NextGen.

The inaugural edition took place on 5-6 November 2025 at Wintercircus Ghent, the same venue co-founded by PJ Bouten. The event featured a EUR 100,000 investment prize from ScaleFund for one startup.

The conference vision centers on the "tectonic shifts" Driven by AI, geopolitical pressure, and digital sovereignty, with a focus on positioning Europe to lead. Audience spans founders, investors, researchers, corporates, policymakers, and the next generation of talent.
