Overview

Vega co-founded Azalea Vision in 2021 as a spinoff from imec and Ghent University. The company's intelligent ocular platform integrates stretchable electronics, custom ASICs, liquid crystal optics, and NFC communication into a lens-embedded system targeting complex vision conditions, remote diagnostics, and targeted ocular therapies. In April 2025, Azalea Vision closed the first tranche of its EUR 15 million Series A at EUR 9 million to fund its First-in-Human clinical trial.
