Overview

John Porter has led Telenet as CEO since 2013. Before joining Telenet he served as CEO of AUSTAR, a leading entertainment company in Australia until its acquisition by Foxtel, and held earlier roles at Time Warner, Group W, and Westinghouse Cable Systems in the US.

Under his leadership, Telenet diversified its product portfolio, built what it calls the largest GIGA network in Europe, and expanded into local and international media and entertainment. He was inducted into the Cable Hall of Fame in 2022, the first CEO of a Belgian company to receive the honour. Telenet is a subsidiary of Liberty Global.
