How can unauthorised drones enter secured airport environments without being detected?
Jean-Pierre De Muyt, Director of Regulatory Affairs at Unifly, recently shared his expert perspective with Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws following a drone incident at Leipzig/Halle Airport.
He discussed the challenges surrounding drone detection and how drones can potentially be operated remotely or follow a pre-programmed route.
“The device may look amateurish, but that does not mean it was amateurishly built. It was likely configured to remain under the radar of detection systems for as long as possible.”
