Privacy policy
The short version: the almanac is built from public sources, accounts exist only to claim your own page, our analytics do not track you across the web, and you can always email a human.
Who we are
TechWiki (techwiki.be) is an almanac of the Belgian technology ecosystem: companies, people, investors, news and jobs. It is made by VibeLab, based in Ghent, Belgium. VibeLab is the data controller for the processing described here.

What the almanac itself contains
The wiki pages describe companies, organisations and people with a public role in Belgian tech. They are compiled from public sources: company websites, public LinkedIn pages and posts, news feeds, event listings and public registries. Pages cite their sources.
If a page is about you and you want it corrected or removed, email us, or claim the page and edit it yourself. We answer removal requests for personal pages without argument.
Accounts and claims
You can use the whole site without an account. An account (email address and password, handled by our database provider Supabase) exists for one purpose: claiming and maintaining the page that is about you or your company.
When you claim a page you give us the LinkedIn profile URL you want verified and an optional message. We use these to check you are who you say you are, and we email you the decision. Verified owners get an edit surface for their own page and nothing else.
What we measure
Our own analytics store the path you visited, the referring page, your browser’s user-agent string and whether the visit looks automated. We do not store your IP address in analytics, we set no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we sell nothing to anyone. Authentication uses the cookies it needs to keep you signed in, and those are all.
Data from LinkedIn
Where a TechWiki application accesses LinkedIn data with your authorisation, we use that data only to provide the feature you authorised it for, we do not sell it, and we delete it when you revoke access or ask us to. You can revoke access at any time in your LinkedIn settings. Public LinkedIn content shown on the wiki and news pages is attributed to its author and linked to the original.
Who processes data for us
Supabase hosts our database and authentication. Netlify hosts the site. Resend delivers our transactional email, such as claim decisions. Each processes data only on our instructions.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected, have it deleted, or object to its processing. Email us and we will act on it. If you are unhappy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority.
