This is what fassada was built to talk about.
The façade conversation has focused heavily on embodied carbon. Important? Absolutely.
But a façade does much more than embody carbon.
It determines how much energy a building needs.
How much it costs to operate.
How it performs over decades.
What needs replacing and what doesn’t.
And ultimately, how much value the building retains.
At Performance-Based Façade Design (PBFD) 2026 in Venice, we will make the case for looking at the whole equation.
Not with promises about what might be possible one day, but with things we can measure and solutions we are already putting into buildings.
The objective is simple:
Lower CAPEX. Lower OPEX. Lower CO₂. Lower risk.
And one principle that captures a lot of how we think at fassada:
The best circularity is no circularity.
Design it intelligently from day one. Use less. Consume less. Replace less. Keep more.
We’re proud to be Diamond Sponsor of Performance-Based Façade Design (PBFD) 2026 and even more excited to contribute to the conversation about where façade engineering goes next.
