My cofounder Bart gave me a slight heart attack on Monday with these words.
From 2,200 EUR to 4,700 EUR per device out of nowhere. A 114% increase. Why? RAM prices.
Luckily our team has mad aura (one guy is literally called Sharkles 🦈 ). In a matter of minutes we were on it. Someone found a webshop in The Netherlands which hadn't updated prices yet.
We placed an order for 10 devices, and called a dear friend of mine in NL to see if we can ship them to his door. Hopped in my car and drove 5 hours to pick it up, including a nice bottle for our middle man.
Market value of this shipment? Roughly a year's salary for a graduate in Belgium.
Building an AI company in 2026 is crazy. If you're not willing to smuggle GPUs part-time, don't even start building.
