Every day, trams move millions of people across European cities. ARISE helped make sure they do it more safely. 🦺
Completed in 2025, ARISE (Assisting RaiI in Safe Environments) was a European project backed by EIT Urban Mobility. Led by OTIV in collaboration with CAF (Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles), and with tram operators De Lijn, Provincie Utrecht, Tranvía de Zaragoza, Lisbon, and Tram Barcelona.
We developed advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) to make tram networks safer and smarter to support tram drivers toward zero avoidable accidents.

🚃 Invaluable feedback and support from drivers and passengers across five cities
Proud of what this project achieved for urban mobility across Europe. The project marked step toward smarter trams, less congestion, and greener cities across Europe. 🌱
