Interesting data from Peec AI / Promptwatch showing a massive drop in Reddit’s citation rate in ChatGPT since the GPT-5.6 rollout.
It’s another reminder that your citation strategy should never be static.
You need to continuously monitor which sources are being used more or less across different models, and adjust your strategy accordingly.
Does this mean you should stop focusing on Reddit altogether? Definitely not.
But I would assess the impact on a brand-by-brand basis. Look at how often Reddit is actually being cited for the queries that matter to your brand, across different models, before deciding where to invest your efforts.
Citation behavior changes. Your strategy should change with it.
