What is a chain of custody, and why is it so important?🔐
When IT equipment leaves your organisation, data security should not become a blind spot.
A Chain of Custody creates clarity throughout the process. It defines how equipment is transferred, who is responsible at each stage, and how the equipment and its data are protected until final processing.
Depending on your security requirements, responsibility for data destruction can be transferred upon receipt at the processing facility, from the moment the equipment leaves your site, or the destruction can take place directly on site.
