A few things caught my eye this week that I think are worth watching if you’re making decisions about marketing, technology, or where to invest attention next.
➛ Reddit, Inc.’s visibility in ChatGPT has dropped sharply while Reddit is building its own AI products. There’s a bigger strategic question here: who controls the audience relationship when AI becomes the interface to the web?
➛ Neko Health is bringing $499 full-body scans to New York. Interesting not just as a healthcare story, but as another example of technology turning something that used to feel institutional into a consumer experience.
➛ Amazon is expanding drone delivery to nearly 500 US cities. It’s easy to think of this as a logistics story, but it’s really about customer expectations. Once something becomes faster and more convenient, the baseline changes for everyone.
➛ Pika is making AI-generated audio dramatically cheaper. As production becomes cheaper, the value shifts further away from simply making more content and towards having something worth paying attention to.
And then there’s a handmade animated film about a wobbly baby cow that went from being mocked for its dated animation to becoming a box-office hit.
I like that story because it’s a useful counterpoint to all the AI news.
Better technology doesn’t automatically produce better work. Sometimes the thing people connect with is the thing that feels unmistakably human.
Those are the kinds of signals I’m collecting in this week’s Chaos & Amazement.
