Eleven years ago, the term "pre-emptive healthcare" was first spoken out loud on this same NUS campus by Dr. Rajendra Pratap Gupta, PhD. On 25th September 2026, we come full circle convening the fourth Global Health System Redesign Lab, from the Global Commission for 21st Century Healthcare (GC21CH), to ask what a 21st-century health system should actually be held accountable for. This convening is co-chaired by Dr. Rajendra Pratap Gupta, PhD, Co-chair, Global Commission for 21st Century Healthcare (GC21CH) and Dr. Dean Ho, Commissioner, Global Commission for 21st Century Healthcare (GC21CH); Director, Institute for Digital Medicine, National University of Singapore.
Singapore didn't fix its old systems. It rebuilt them. 21st century healthcare needs the same trajectory.
