It’s day 160 🤯
Most software vendors do R&D, but almost none of them tell you what they actually learned. And if there are public learnings, most share way too late. Tech is moving faster than ever, and it just feels wrong not to make the sharing loop shorter as well. (Loops FTW!) 🔁
That’s why we started Azumuta Labs. Manufacturing needs faster research, shared openly.
Internally we often say “We’re day X of the Singularity”, yes today is day 160 😁. We say this only half-jokingly, because the speed of progress is actually quite insane, I keep being amazed on a daily basis now.
In that spirit, here’s the latest from Labs:
VLMs for process capture. Something we're confident will change the way knowledge is captured in manufacturing.
Vision Language Models can watch a procedure being performed and generate structured work instructions automatically. In our trials, documentation time dropped by 90% versus manual methods.
But 90% doesn't happen automagically. Prompt design matters, camera position matters, and if your videos contain anything sensitive, you need to think hard about whether you run this in the cloud or on local hardware. We tested both and wrote it down in an extensive blog post on Azumuta Labs.
And it’s not a one time thing, we’ll continue to learn and accelerate with VLMs, and we’ll keep sharing…
