After I-care Group, Formula 1 is my greatest passion.
As a Ferrari fan, it wasn’t Hamilton’s victory that caught my attention the most last weekend.
It was a lesson in management.
In the car: Lewis Hamilton.
7 World Championships.
More than 100 Grand Prix victories.
On the radio: Carlo Santi, his race engineer.
And at key moments during the race, he was sharing instructions with his driver that seem almost obvious:
➡️ Adjust the brake balance.
➡️ Press the K2 button.
➡️ First gear. Yes, even that!
➡️ Watch out for traffic.
➡️ You’re racing Russell.
➡️ You’re ahead of Russell, that’s OK.
When you think about it, it’s fascinating.
One of the greatest drivers in history accepts being guided.
Not because he doesn’t know.
But because he knows he can’t see everything, analyze everything, and optimize everything on his own.
Maybe that’s the difference between being good and being great.
Great champions trust their team. They know that performance is never the result of a single individual.
In sport, as in business, sustainable performance does not come from the certainty of being the best.
It comes from the ability to surround yourself with the right people and trust them when it matters most.
Thank you for the lesson, Sir Lewis Hamilton, Carlo Santi, and Frederic Vasseur.
