iCAREPLAST addresses cost and energy-efficient recycling and valorisation of non-recyclable plastics and composites. The process combines pyrolysis, catalytic treatment and membrane separation technologies to obtain high added-value chemicals such as aromatics for virgin-quality polymers or other processes. Advanced control techniques and hydrocarbon-rich side stream recovery for energy valorisation are integrated into the approach.
