Founded by Jarne Bogaert and Lucas Van Dijck in Ghent, Polysense builds tools for food producers, processors, and retailers to monitor and optimize their operations with the goal of reducing food waste. The platform combines sensor data, production logs, and AI analytics to identify where waste occurs and surface actionable recommendations.

Food waste is both a significant economic cost and an environmental problem, and regulatory scrutiny around it is increasing in Europe. Polysense positions itself at the intersection of operational efficiency and sustainability reporting.

The company is part of the active Ghent startup ecosystem and has connections to the Wintercircus community.
