Overview

ScioTeq designs and manufactures cockpit displays, mission computers, touchscreen panels, and visualisation software for civil and military aviation, air traffic control, and defense customers. The company is headquartered at President Kennedypark in Kortrijk and operates manufacturing facilities in Belgium and the United States, with more than 400 employees worldwide.

The business traces its lineage back to the avionics division of Barco in Kortrijk. It was carved out as Esterline Belgium and later inherited by TransDigm when TransDigm acquired Esterline Technologies in March 2019. In 2021 TransDigm divested the unit and its sister simulation business TREALITY to OpenGate Capital in a transaction valued at approximately USD 200M, at which point the Kortrijk operation took the ScioTeq name.

Flagship products include the PU-5200 certified display computer, the RDU-3068 avionics touchscreen, and the MOSArt platform, which were selected by Airbus Defence and Space for the new generation A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport. In December 2025 OpenGate Capital completed the sale of ScioTeq to the aerospace and defense fund of French alternative asset manager Tikehau Capital.

• March 2019: Acquired by TransDigm as part of the Esterline Technologies transaction
• 2021: Divested by TransDigm to OpenGate Capital for approximately USD 200M (including sister business TREALITY)
• December 2025: Acquired from OpenGate Capital by Tikehau Capital's aerospace and defense fund
