Founded by Jonas Dhaenens and based in Ghent, team.blue grew through an acquisition-led strategy that brought together domain registrars, web hosting providers, and digital infrastructure companies across Europe. The group operates brands in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, and other markets.

The company serves hundreds of thousands of businesses and developers across Europe with domain registration, hosting, cloud VPS, email, and website builder products. It is one of the larger digital infrastructure operators to emerge from Belgium.

team.blue represents a different growth model from the typical VC-backed SaaS company: consolidation and operational efficiency across fragmented European hosting markets.

In July 2024, CPP Investments (the Canadian pension fund) invested EUR 550M in team.blue at a EUR 4.8B valuation, one of the largest single investment events in Belgian tech history. The capital supports continued pan-European acquisition activity.
