Alexander Ryckaert
Alexander Ryckaert is a co-founder of Elegent, a company he started in April 2022. He is based in Gent.
He spent much of the preceding decade at Universiteit Gent, first as a PhD student from August 2016 to 2021 and then as a postdoctoral research scientist from 2021 until August 2024, a role he continued to hold after founding Elegent. Earlier, he worked as a pharmacist at Apotheek Beyens in the spring of 2016, following a traineeship as an industrial pharmacist at Baxalta from September 2015 to February 2016.
Ryckaert studied at Ghent University, completing a Bachelor in Pharmaceutical Sciences between 2009 and 2012, a Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Master in Drug Development between 2012 and 2014, and a Master of Science in Industrial Pharmacy in 2015. He attended Koninklijk Atheneum Mariakerke from 2003 to 2009, in the science and mathematics stream.
