Andre Kahlmeyer

Andre Kahlmeyer is Managing Director and Senior Expert at Conflict Management Consulting, based in Vienna, a position he has held since June 2014. From March 2014 to September 2015 he was also Director of the Peace and Security section at the Global Governance Institute, and from July 2011 to October 2013 a Senior Consultant and Area Manager at Channel Research.

In 2012 he coordinated the African Peace Facility Expert Pool at the European Commission. He worked as a Senior Planning Officer for security sector reform at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in 2011, and before that served with the European External Action Service as Rule of Law Officer for evaluation and best practice on EUJUST LEX Iraq. From October 2007 to April 2010 he headed the Programme Office for Intercultural Relations with Muslim Countries at GTZ, having previously been a desk officer for the Middle East and North Africa at NATO PA. Earlier he held consultant posts at a German Embassy and interned at the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia and the Max Planck Institute.

He studied Oriental Studies at Heidelberg University and Leipzig University and took a postgraduate diploma in War and Conflict at King's College London. He has since studied at INSEAD, Tsinghua University, Harvard Extension School, the Institute of World Politics and Charles Sturt University, and began doctoral study in international relations at the University of Buckingham in 2023.
