
Andreas Belderbos
Andreas Belderbos is co-founder and chief operating officer of mahi, a company he started in February 2024. He is based in Leuven.
Before that he spent several years at Boston Consulting Group, joining as a senior associate in March 2019 and going on to work as a consultant and then as a project leader until February 2024. During that period, from September 2021 to February 2022, he led the smart solutions venture platform at Bekaert.
Earlier, Belderbos co-founded Project Mahi in June 2015 and remained with it until July 2019, alongside his work as a doctoral researcher in mechanical engineering at KU Leuven from August 2014 to February 2019. He worked as a technical consultant in model predictive control at IPCOS from 2013 to 2014, and spent the summer of 2012 as an intern at Lampiris working on renewable generation forecasting.
He studied at KU Leuven throughout, taking a bachelor's degree in mechanical and electrical engineering, a master's in energy engineering, a PhD in mechanical engineering, and a postgraduate programme in corporate finance from 2025 to 2026.
