Annelies Bogaerts

Annelies Bogaerts is Chief Executive Officer of fishway, based in Lummen. She joined the company in January 2023 as Chief Development Officer and took up the chief executive role in April 2025. She has also been Chief Development Officer of Benno Therapeutics since March 2024, and an academic advisor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Ghent University since October 2023.

Bogaerts spent almost twelve years at ReGenesys BV, joining as a scientist in March 2011, becoming a senior scientist in July 2013 and serving as senior scientist and head of animal health from March 2017 until December 2022. Before that she was a post-doctoral researcher at KU Leuven from October 2010 to March 2011, following a PhD fellowship funded by the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO) between October 2006 and September 2010. She holds a PhD in biology from KU Leuven.
