Ashwin Ittoo
Ashwin Ittoo is based in Liège, where he co-founded AIASHI in February 2024. Since October 2016 he has been a full professor of information systems and business analytics at the University of Liège, and since October 2022 he has served as vice president of the Doctoral School at HEC Liège. Between October 2018 and October 2022 he headed the Operations Department at HEC Liège.
His work with Elsevier began in 2008 as a reviewer for the journal Computers in Industry, and he has been an associate editor of that journal since January 2016. He also reviewed for Data and Knowledge Engineering and guest edited special issues on NLDB and on NLP and text analytics in industry.
Earlier, Ittoo was a post-doctoral research fellow at the University of Groningen from April 2012 to September 2013, academic staff at Republic Polytechnic from 2006 to 2008, lead developer at Arcpos, software engineer at Cicada Cube and software developer at Motorola Singapore.
He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in natural language processing and information systems from the University of Groningen, a Master of Science from Nanyang Technological University Singapore and a Bachelor of Engineering in computer engineering from the National University of Singapore. In 2025 he completed IBM training in GenAI integration strategy.
