Axel Gekiere

Axel Gekiere is a co-founder of adshot, based in Mechelen. He co-founded the company in January 2017, having previously worked as an SEM account manager at AdSpecialist from 2016 to 2018. Earlier he completed internships as a marketing assistant at B&G Nederland in 2014 and as an assistant organiser of the Golden Gondola Awards at Gondola - Retail Facts & Trends in 2012.

Gekiere has held a number of teaching positions. He has been a guest lecturer at UCLL StartMinds since September 2019, and has also lectured at KU Leuven between 2018 and 2020, at Thomas More-hogeschool from 2018 to 2024, at Arteveldehogeschool in 2021 and at Vlerick Business School from 2021 to 2025. Between May 2018 and November 2024 he sat on the dissertation jury for the postgraduate programme in digital marketing at VIVES/Brugge Business School, and he was attached to Hogeschool PXL from December 2023 to December 2024.

He studied business management and marketing at Katholieke Hogeschool Mechelen, graduating cum laude in 2011, took a master's degree in corporate and business communication at KU Leuven in 2015, and completed a postgraduate course in digital marketing and communication at EHSAL Management School magna cum laude in 2016.
