Benny Tops

Benny Tops is a fractional CTO at Remecare, a role he took up in February 2026, and is based in Antwerp. Since the same month he has also been a senior technical expert at ARLE B.V., and since January 2025 he has worked on AI agents at Agent Tops.

He had previously served as CTO of Remecare from October 2021 to February 2026, and as CTO of Remedus earlier in 2021. Between 2014 and 2020 he was at Software Improvement Group, first as a senior consultant and from 2019 as a principal consultant.

Tops spent much of his earlier career with Belgian Defence and the Ministerie van Defensie, where he led the electromechanics and infrastructure section and later the routing and switching section of Gp BEMILTEL, headed the BELUBG5 communication centre, served as an exchange officer from 2001 to 2006, and worked as a Network Battle Space team engineer from 2006 to 2014. In parallel, from 2006 to 2010, he was solution architect and lead developer at WHISE.

He studied applied sciences at the Royal Military Academy, Belgium, completed a postgraduate programme in business studies at KU Leuven, and took the Mastering IT Management open course at Vlerick Business School in 2016.
