Bert Michiels
Bert Michiels is the owner of mibit, a company he founded in September 2019, and is based in Rotselaar. Since January 2021 he has also been ICT Manager at BESIX Infra Support.
Michiels began his career in August 2004 as a junior project engineer in mechatronics at FMTC, remaining there until October 2006. He then spent more than fourteen years at Desmet Ballestra, joining in November 2006 as a process automation engineer, becoming IT Manager EMASA in March 2013 and Group IT Strategy & Architecture Manager in March 2019, a role he held until January 2021.
He studied at Groep T - Internationale Hogeschool Leuven from 1999 to 2004, graduating with a Master of Industrial Sciences in Electromechanical Engineering - Automation. In 2019 he received a certificate of participation in Digital Leadership from Vlerick Business School.
