Carl D'Halluin

Carl D'Halluin is Chief Technology Officer at Datadobi, a role he has held since December 2019. He is based in Ghent.

Before joining Datadobi, he spent from January 2013 to December 2019 at Western Digital as Vice President and Chief Architect for object storage. Between March 2011 and December 2012 he founded Onze Stad App, where he was Chief Architect for smart city automation. Earlier he was Chief Architect for cloud infrastructure at Oracle from May 2007 to March 2011, a software architect working on storage systems at EMC from November 2002 to April 2007, and a software engineer working on web security at Ubizen from August 2000 to October 2002.

D'Halluin studied electrical engineering with a focus on cryptography at KU Leuven, graduating in 1999, and took a master's in mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley in 1999 and 2000, followed by a master's in business studies at KU Leuven in 2002. In 2022 and 2023 he completed postgraduate programmes at Ghent University in machine learning and in explainable and trustworthy artificial intelligence. He attended Sint-Barbaracollege Gent from 1988 to 1994.
