Caroline Sagaert

Caroline Sagaert is COO of ExeVir and is based in Gent. She joined ExeVir in August 2021 as a senior consultant heading global value strategy, became head of operations in September 2023 and took up her current role in June 2024. Since July 2021 she has also been the founder and owner of CAGISA Consulting, and in April 2025 she began a consultancy engagement with VIB running to April 2026.

She started at UCB in 1987 in sales and commercial roles, then headed global market research from 1992, new product development, and licensing for Europe until March 2003. She was business development manager at Innogenetics from 2003 to 2005, after which she joined GSK, where she held director-level roles covering commercial strategy for Cervarix, value strategy for early and exploratory projects and disease mapping in vaccines, before heading value strategy and then early value evidence until March 2021.

She studied industrial engineering in biochemistry at HOGENT and marketing management at Erasmushogeschool Brussel, completed the CEPAC programme at Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management in 1991 and 1992, and took part in an internal Global Leadership Programme.
