David Waroquiers

David Waroquiers is the founder and CEO of Matgenix, a company he started in July 2020 and which is based in Charleroi. Before that he spent more than a decade at the Université catholique de Louvain, where he was a PhD student from October 2008 to February 2013, a research assistant from March 2013 to October 2018, and then a qualified researcher until April 2020.

He studied at the Université catholique de Louvain, completing a Master of Engineering in materials science between 2002 and 2008 and a PhD in engineering between 2008 and 2013. He subsequently followed two programmes at the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management: the "Création et Croissance" course in entrepreneurship in 2017 and 2018, and the Accelerated Management Program in business administration and management in 2018 and 2019.
