Dharmjeet Madhav

Dharmjeet Madhav is the founder and director of AARDIVE, which he started in August 2025, and is based in Brugge. Since March 2025 he has also been a research associate at KU Leuven.

He completed a PhD in materials science and chemical engineering at KU Leuven between November 2020 and January 2025, working there as a doctoral researcher over the same period, and held a strategic basic research fellowship from the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO) from November 2021 to October 2025. From November 2023 to March 2024 he was a visiting research fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and he spent late 2019 and early 2020 as an independent researcher at the Instituto de Nanociencia y Materiales de Aragón.

His studies include master's degrees from KU Leuven in membrane engineering, the Universidad de Zaragoza in nanotechnology, the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague in chemical process technology, Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III in chemical engineering and the University of Montpellier in materials engineering. He studied polymer science and technology at the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, from 2014 to 2018, where he also held several student council and hall positions.
