DIRK DE HERTOG
Dirk De Hertog is based in Heverlee and is a co-founder of Publican BE, which he started in September 2022. Since October 2019 he has also been a co-founder of Avantopy.
Between April 2016 and April 2019 he was a postdoctoral researcher at KU Leuven, having earlier been a PhD student there from September 2009 to February 2014. In the intervening period he worked as a data scientist consultant, at the European Commission through Ausy/Dataflow from July 2014 to February 2015, and at Keyrus in the first months of 2016. He began his career as a software engineer at Colruyt from January 2007 to September 2008.
He studied at KU Leuven throughout, taking a master's in Germanic Languages (Dutch-English) from 2001 to 2005 and a master's in Artificial Intelligence from 2008 to 2009.
