
Dmitri Choutov
Dmitri Choutov is a co-founder of Swave Photonics, based in Leuven, where he has served as founder and chief operating officer since November 2021. From September 2015 to February 2022 he was associated with In2rbo, Inc, and between November 2015 and March 2021 he was vice president of engineering at Atomera. He was a director at Lam Research from October 2014 to November 2015, and vice president of technology at Crocus Technology / Crocusnano from October 2011 to September 2014. In January 2010 he co-founded Luxera, Inc., where he was chief technology officer until October 2011. Earlier he spent a decade at Maxim Integrated as a senior scientist and director, from July 1999 to January 2010, following two years as a staff engineer at National Semiconductor. He began his career as a research associate at the Institute of Applied Physics from 1987 to 1993.
Choutov holds an M.S. in physics from Lomonosov Moscow State University and a Ph.D. from the Institute of Applied Physics, with a thesis on nonlinear optics of semiconductor surface. He carried out postdoctoral work in process development at the Georgia Institute of Technology from 1994 to 1997.
