Ed Smit

Ed Smit is Managing Director of Dstny BE, a role he took up in November 2025. He is based in Leuven and holds two further managing director positions concurrently, at Dstny NL since August 2020 and at Dstny FR Entreprises since March 2025. He first worked with Dstny BE as an interim and project manager between June and August 2020.

Before joining Dstny, Smit was a senior program manager at Allegion, PLC from 2017 to 2020, and program manager EMEA at Ingersoll Rand from 2013 to 2016. He held program management roles at Harlan Laboratories, Inc. in global IT, at Alstom Transport, and, earlier, at the Ministry of ICT in Amman, Jordan. Between 2009 and 2011 he was interim director for health and environment at the Federaal Agentschap voor Nucleaire Controle, and he had previously been interim IT director for Europe at Silliker, transition manager at Fenwal and interim sales manager at Quentris. Earlier in his career he worked at Fabricom GTI, Global Crossing, KPN and Philips DCS.

Smit studied electrical, electronics and communications engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology, graduating with an MSc in 1986.
