
Eric Guffens
Eric Guffens is the founder of iotec-ai and is based in Brussels. He states expertise in solution architecture, artificial intelligence, large language models, multi-agent systems and prompt engineering.
He founded IoTec-AI in July 2020 and has been a software and hardware entrepreneur at EVADERAN since November 2019, holding both roles alongside his position as AI domain architect at ENGIE, which he took up in October 2025.
Earlier, Guffens worked as a freelance IT solution architect at Colruyt Group from September 2017 to November 2019, and as a senior software architect at Mainsys from July 2016 to August 2017. Between May 2014 and June 2016 he was a freelance enterprise and solution architect at M-team, and before that a technology architect at Sopra Banking Software from October 2012 to April 2014. From July 2007 to November 2012 he was a technical expert and ICT architect at Callataÿ and Wouters.
He studied computer science at the Université libre de Bruxelles, completing a Master of Engineering in 1997.
