Erik Van Ginkel

Erik Van Ginkel is the founder of IKONS Freelance and is based in Antwerp. He co-founded IKONS Nederland in September 2016 and has been its managing director since, founded IKONS België in February 2022 and led it until August 2025, was managing director of IKONS South Africa from September 2023 to January 2025, and took up the role of managing director of IKONS Freelance in September 2025. Between November 2024 and September 2025 he was managing founder of They Will Be Great.

Earlier he was holding director of Socialize Media Groep from November 2015 to February 2022, and co-founder and partner of Supersky from November 2015 to June 2018. At Socialize he worked as a consultant from 2012, as interim director from August 2014 and as operational director from October 2015 to June 2017. He was a project manager at Publicis Groupe from May 2010 to June 2012 and a campaign manager at UPC Nederland from June 2008 to May 2010.

He studied marketing management at Zuyd University of Applied Sciences, graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce in 2006, after attending the hotel school at Pascal College. He took art history courses at KLU Cursussen Kunstgeschiedenis in 2017 and 2018.
