Filip Michiels

Filip Michiels is chief executive officer of everesst, a role he took up in May 2024. He is based in Nieuwpoort. In August 2011 he founded fensco, where he remains chief business innovation officer.

Before joining everesst, he was chief product officer at ZORGI from January 2023 to January 2024, and chief operating officer at COMPUTERLAND Belgium from February 2021 to January 2023. He served as chief information officer at TUI and TUI Benelux from December 2013 to February 2021, and sat on the board of Ordina Belgium between June 2020 and February 2021. DataNews named him CIO of the year in November 2019.

Earlier, he held interim positions as CIO and IT director at Gateway NV and as head of IT at Lanxess, and worked as a senior consultant at Across, all in 2012 and 2013. From November 2007 to August 2011 he was director of support services at HDP&AristA. He spent 1994 to 2007 at The Estée Lauder Companies Inc, rising from senior analyst programmer through project manager and senior manager of sales and marketing systems to executive manager of international information systems.

Michiels studied engineering in computer sciences at Ghent University, graduating in 1993, and later took programmes at the University of Antwerp and Vlerick Business School.
