Francis Martens
Francis Martens is a product owner at Exalate, a company he co-founded in March 2013. He is based in Antwerp.
From January 2009 until May 2023 he was a managing partner at Idalko, where he also worked as an Atlassian expert. Before that he was VP Engineering at Q-layer NV from 2006 to December 2008, and from November 1999 to August 2006 he managed Centera software development at EMC. He was a director at Riverland Next Generation between 1996 and 1999, and at Architects and Algorithms from 1992 to 1996, having joined that firm as a software development management consultant in November 1991, a role he held until January 2009. He began his career as a software engineer at Infotrade from 1987 to 1992.
Martens studied computer science at KU Leuven, completing a master's degree in June 1987.
