Frederik Heylen
Frederik Heylen is co-founder and zaakvoerder of Datamarinier, a company he started in January 2021. He is based in Antwerp.
From January 2019 to October 2021 he worked as a data scientist and analyst at Stad Antwerpen. Before that he was at the University of Antwerp, first as a research assistant from September 2013 to August 2014 and then as a PhD researcher from August 2014 to January 2019. Earlier, between February 2012 and August 2013, he worked as an event medewerker at Brands In Motion.
He studied at the University of Antwerp, where he completed a bachelor's degree in political science in 2012, a Master of Science in comparative and European politics in 2013 and a PhD in social sciences in 2018. He followed this with a micro degree in big data and information technology at Karel de Grote-Hogeschool in 2018 and 2019.
