
Gert Sitter
Gert Sitter is the owner and manager of 24sea, a position he has held since January 2016. He is based in Brussels.
From September 2011 to February 2016 he was coordinator of monitoring systems at the Offshore Wind Infrastructure Application Lab (OWI-Lab), overlapping with a post as postdoctoral researcher-entrepreneur at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel under a SOIB grant between October 2012 and February 2016. He had earlier worked at the same university as a researcher from January 2002 to September 2011. In between, he spent a year at Immo Industry Group, joining as project leader in February 2008 and becoming manager of new technologies from November 2008 to February 2009.
Sitter studied industrial engineering at the LUCA School of Arts from 1993 to 1997 and took an MSc in engineering at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel from 1997 to 2000, followed by a post-university degree in business management at HUB-EHSAL from 2003 to 2004. He obtained a PhD in applied sciences from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2013.
