
Gert Spiegeleer
Gert Spiegeleer co-founded Ethernetics in May 2018 and remains a co-founder of the company. He is based in Sint-Maria-Lierde. At Ethernetics he has held a succession of roles, serving as COO from 2018 to 2019, as CEO in early 2019, as CFO from 2019 to 2022 and as chairman of the board of directors from 2022 to 2023. Between September 2022 and October 2023 he was a lector at HOGENT.
He worked as a financial analyst at Degroof Petercam from 1999 to 2001, then taught economics, accountancy and marketing at ka-ipb until 2008, sitting on the board of vlew from 2003 to 2008. He was pedagogisch directeur at KA-IPB Ronse from 2008 to 2010 and its director under GO! onderwijs van de Vlaamse Gemeenschap from 2010 to 2013, principal of Da Vinci Campus from 2010 to 2016, and co-ordinating director of secondary education for Scholengroep 21 "Vlaamse Ardennen" and Scholengemeenschap AKOR from 2016 to 2018.
He studied applied economics at Ghent University and financial analysis at ICHEC Brussels, took an MBA at Vlerick Business School, and in 2018 followed a course on cryptocurrency and disruption at The London School of Economics and Political Science.
