Gil Beyen

Gil Beyen is chief executive officer of Montis Biosciences, based in Leuven. He joined the company's board in May 2023 and took up the chief executive role in August 2023. He has also sat on the board of NOVADIP Biosciences S.A. since 2015, and was a board member of Phaxiam Therapeutics from July 2023 to June 2025.

Beyen was board member and chief executive of ERYTECH Pharma SA from May 2012 to June 2023, and president of ERYTECH Pharma Inc from May 2016 to May 2024. Between January 2015 and July 2019 he was chairman of Waterleau. He co-founded TiGenix in 2000 and led it as chief executive until 2012. His career began at Arthur D. Little, where he worked from 1990 to 2002, moving from consultant to director.

He studied bioengineering at KU Leuven, graduating with an MSc in 1984, and took an MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business from 1988 to 1990. In 2023 he completed an online HMX course from Harvard Medical School in pharmacology, drug discovery and development.
