Gill Scheltjens

Gill Scheltjens is the co-founder and CEO of D-CRBN, a position he has held since April 2021. He is based in Antwerp.

Before founding D-CRBN, he was technical director at Molecular Plasma Group from September 2017 to December 2022, and prior to that an R&D engineer at Everlam NV from May 2016 to August 2017 and an R&D professional at VITO from November 2014 to April 2016. Earlier in his career he completed internships at The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson in 2006 and at Evonik in 2005.

Scheltjens was a doctoral researcher at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel from September 2009 to October 2014, and received his PhD there in 2015 with a thesis on structure-processing-property relationships in plasma deposited films. He holds a master's degree in civil engineering, chemistry from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, a master's degree in industrial engineering, chemistry from Karel de Grote-Hogeschool, and a bachelor's degree in chemistry and process technology from AP Hogeschool Antwerpen.
