
Henk Vanstappen is based in Antwerp and is a co-owner of datable, the company he has owned since February 2011 and where he took up the co-ownership role in September 2015. Since July 2015 he has also worked as an independent consultant for the Europeana Fashion International Association. His stated areas of expertise are artificial intelligence, data analysis, linked data, archives and collections management.
He was a researcher at PACKED from February 2010 to November 2014, and during part of that period advised Modemuseum on Europeana Fashion projects, lectured at Hogeschool Gent from 2011 to 2014, and spent 2011 as a researcher at the Vlaams Architectuurinstituut. Earlier he managed projects at the Fashion Academy of the Royal Academy of Arts Antwerp, coordinated eProjects at the Nederlands Architectuurinstituut, worked as a project manager for Stad Antwerpen, served as adjunct bibliothecaris at the Rubenianum and sat on the board of OKBV.
Vanstappen studied history at the University of Antwerp and the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, took a bachelor's degree in library science at STLBW Pestalozzi, and completed an MA in information science at the University of Antwerp in 2001.
