Ilfak Guilfanov

Ilfak Guilfanov is a Russian software engineer and computer security researcher based in Belgium. He began developing IDA Pro in 1990, originally distributing it as shareware. In 2005 he founded Hex-Rays in Liege to commercialize IDA Pro as a professional reverse engineering platform. IDA Pro became the standard tool for binary analysis, malware research, and vulnerability research worldwide. Hex-Rays was acquired by a consortium led by Smartfin together with SFPIM and SRIW.
