Jacob Bossaer

Jacob Bossaer is CEO and co-founder of BOSAQ, a Ghent-based water technology company that builds decentralised purification systems converting salt, brackish, and contaminated water into drinking water using only renewable energy.

Overview

Jacob holds two Master's degrees in industrial and chemical engineering from Ghent University (KAHO and UGent) and worked as a water expedition engineer at the Belgian government's Princess Elisabeth Antarctica station, where he developed a system to recycle water using only renewable energy. He co-founded BOSAQ in 2017 with Pieter Derboven with the goal of providing the world with clean, safe drinking water in a decentralised way.

BOSAQ has partnered with TotalEnergies and Arteco on sustainable water management projects, and donates 10% of profits to its non-profit Water Heroes, which launched its first mission in Ukraine.
