James Cogels

James Cogels is a co-founder of Bsit, based in Brussels. He co-founded the company in June 2015 and, until September 2022, also served as its chief legal officer with responsibility for communication.

Before that, from March 2013 to January 2015, he worked on Babel Express at ARTE as editorial director, co-creator, co-author and co-director. He was a legal counsel at Accenture from July 2010 to December 2012, and before that spent five years at Dal & Veldekens, joining as a trainee lawyer in April 2005 and practising as an attorney from May 2008 until June 2010.

Cogels studied law at the Université libre de Bruxelles from 1998 to 2004, including an Erasmus period in law at the Universidad Pontificia Comillas and, in 2004, the REACT expert course in conflict prevention and crisis management at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He went on to an LLM in European and comparative law at Ghent University and, in 2013 and 2014, a master's in media content innovation and creation at CELSA Paris-Sorbonne.
