Jan Robrechts

Jan Robrechts is the founder and chief executive of bitos, a company he started in January 2001 and still leads from Turnhout. Since July 2024 he has been deputy director and chairman of the board at GBA Benelux, where he founded the laboratory and served as its director from January 1997 to December 2019 and then as laboratory director and chief executive from January 2020 to July 2024. He has sat on the advisory board of Orakel since January 2005.

Earlier in his career he founded Medisch Labo Kempen and directed it from January 1990 to December 2001, having been laboratory director at Medisch Labo Rigo from August 1984 to November 1989. He held board positions at ALITO Hout / Groen / Projecten from 1997 to 2019, at Oleotest from 2010 to 2018, on the advisory board of Licalab from 2018 to 2019, and at ETION from October 2021 to June 2025.

Robrechts studied pharmaceutical sciences at KU Leuven from 1976 to 1981, followed by clinical biology there from 1981 to 1984.
