Jan-Willem Rombouts

Jan-Willem Rombouts is the founder and chief executive of beebop, which he started in April 2023. He is based in Belgium. Since June 2021 he has also been a co-founder and board member of Scone.

Between July 2010 and September 2018 he was co-founder and co-CEO of REstore, which was acquired by Centrica. He then served as director of product management for Centrica Business Solutions from October 2018 to April 2020.

Earlier, Rombouts spent five years at Goldman Sachs, joining in 2005 as an associate in credit trading strategy and rising to vice president, and from 2009 to 2010 was an executive director in credit strategy.

He was a graduate teaching assistant at New York University from 2002 to 2005 and a doctoral researcher at Sorbonne Université in mid-2004. He holds a B.Sc. in mathematics from the University of Antwerp, an M.Sc. in mathematics from Ghent University, a Ph.D. in theoretical and mathematical physics from New York University, and a graduate certificate in data mining and applications from Stanford University.
